According to Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, a married couple in their 20s has been detained for seven days to assist in the investigation of a one-year-old child abuse victim’s death in Subang. The couple’s remand order was granted by the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court on Friday (Jan 26).
Datuk Hussein Omar Khan informed Bernama on Friday that the couple was apprehended from their residence at the Lembah Subang People’s Housing Project. He also mentioned that a post-mortem examination revealed signs of abuse on the child, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code and Child Act 2001.
Reports from the media today stated that the boy, who is believed to have been abused, passed away after being brought unconscious to Hospital Shah Alam. It is said that the child was sent to the suspects’ house while his parents were at work. – Bernama
