On Saturday evening, a celebration was held in Cairo, Egypt to celebrate the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year, which is set to take place on February 10th this year.
Sponsored by the China Cultural Center in Cairo, the event showcased performances of Chinese folk music and dances. Many young Egyptians attended the event dressed in traditional Chinese attire. They also had the opportunity to write their names in Chinese, enjoy Chinese cuisine, and take part in various cultural activities such as calligraphy, painting, paper-cutting, and tea-tasting.
Yang Ronghao, the director of the China Cultural Center and the cultural counselor for the Chinese embassy in Egypt, expressed his observation that Egyptians are increasingly interested in participating in Chinese cultural activities. He attributed this growing interest to the continually expanding relationship between China and Egypt in recent years.
Ronghao stated that the center is dedicated to continuing to promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and Egypt.
Around 80 participants from seven different Egyptian provinces attended the event.
