PETALING JAYA: Nga Kor Ming has spoken up in support of the inclusion of the DAP logos on mock cheques intended for school donations, which has received criticism from various leaders recently.
“There is no issue. The most important thing is that the schools receive the donation,” Nga told reporters after attending an event at the Local Government and Development Ministry in Putrajaya on Wednesday (Aug 23).
The Local Government and Development Minister was captured in multiple photographs handing over mock cheques that featured the logos of DAP, Pakatan Harapan, and Malaysia Madani, as well as Malaysia’s coat of arms.
It was reported on Saturday that the Education Ministry allocated RM1.8 million to 17 Chinese primary and secondary schools in Perak.
Several leaders have expressed criticism on the matter, including PAS information department chief director Zurk Ahmad, who accused Nga of unethically leveraging government funds for political gain.
“In the Pakatan-Barisan Nasional era, were ministers allowed to utilize public and government funds for their own political campaigns within government premises?” Zurk questioned in a statement published on PAS’ news outlet, Harakah Daily.
Umno youth chief Dr. Akmal Salleh also called on Nga to clarify the presence of the DAP logo on the mock cheques.
