KOTA KINABALU: A Datuk and ten others allegedly involved in a major drug syndicate in Sabah faced trial in the Sessions Court here on Monday (Jan 22) for a charge of being linked with a criminal organisation.
The Datuk, a policeman and nine others were all charged under section 130V (1) of the Penal Code.

No pleas were recorded from the 11 individuals, and their case will be re-mentioned on March 1 before being transferred to the High Court.
The 11 accused are Rahman Burijin, 44; Jaisalfian Jaineh @ Zaini, 45; Mohd Fauzie Rablin, 33; Shahlan Shah Abdul Samad, 37; Datuk Maslan Sani, 41; Nelson Yen Yee Chung, 46; Mohd Faridzul Asmahadi, 31; Fazrul Bahar, 32; Alkan Abraham, 35; Mazlan Mahmud, 41 and Mahathir Jibarail, 49.
On Dec 26 last year, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay announced that the police had busted a major drug syndicate in Sabah and arrested the kingpin, a Datuk Seri, who is also a patron of a non-governmental organisation.
