According to Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu the Bersatu deputy president, party members should remain united and refuse any attempts by political opponents to portray them as a threat. This statement was made during his opening speech at the annual general assemblies of Bersatu’s youth and women’s wings, which are being held in conjunction with Bersatu’s annual general assembly on Nov 23.

The annual general assembly for the Bersatu Youth wing Armada and women’s wing Srikandi is being attended by party vice-president Datuk Seri Radzi Jidin and secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, as well as other leaders. Ahmad Faizal urged members not to be swayed by political opponents who are threatened by Bersatu’s increasing influence, referencing the four Bersatu MPs who recently shifted their support to the unity government.

Ahmad Faizal also criticized the current government’s inability to address supply issues with essential food items such as rice, chicken, and eggs, contrasting it with Bersatu’s ability to deliver assistance to the people when it was part of the government under Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. He also called out those who used Islamophobia to discredit Perikatan Nasional after its victory in the last general and state elections.

Ahmad Faizal stressed that Perikatan Nasional is not a racist or extremist coalition, focusing on the needs of the people with Malays as the majority of the country. He encouraged the youths and women of Bersatu to speak up and work hard to elevate the status of Malays with respect. At the same event, Armada chief Wan Ahmad Fahysal Wan Ahmad Kamal emphasized the responsibility of youth to revitalize the party’s struggle, while Srikandi chief Datuk Seri Rina Harun highlighted the continued efforts of Bersatu’s women to bring in more members despite facing slander and opposition.
