Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) for treatment of an infection, according to a post on his official Facebook page. The post shared two photos of Dr Mahathir going through some files at the ward in the Institut Jantung Negara on Thursday. It stated that he was admitted on Tuesday and was being treated for an infection.
This is not the first time the 98-year-old former Langkawi MP has been admitted to IJN. He underwent an elective medical procedure in January 2022 and was also admitted after testing positive for Covid-19 in August last year.
