SHAH ALAM: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad wants Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to furnish evidence that he had stolen money or assets belonging to the people.
Dr Mahathir said such allegations were serious and Anwar should specify who exactly he was referring to.
“Anwar has said that he has a lot of evidence, but he has never shown it.
“He has said that he will show it, but when I asked to see it, he said he can’t, it’s a secret,” Dr Mahathir said during the Bicara Negarawan dan Agamawan programme at the I-City Convention Centre in Shah Alam on Tuesday night (July 25).

It was the former prime minister’s second joint appearance with PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
During the Madani Unity Tour and Launch of Unity Machinery in Kelantan on Monday (July 24), Anwar gave a conditional statement to a political leader, asking the person to either return the alleged stolen assets or be ready to face investigation.
In his speech, Anwar stated that if the implicated leader, whom he did not name, failed to comply, he would direct the authorities to investigate.
Dr Mahathir made his debut on a PAS stage in Kelantan last weekend, as part of his Malay Proclamation agenda to unite Malay votes for Perikatan Nasional, against Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional in the six upcoming state elections.
