PETALING JAYA: The 43 graduates from the Tunku Abdul Rahman Education Community College (TAR EC College) have been congratulated by Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong. He mentioned that TAR EC College has produced nearly 3,000 early childhood educators. Dr Wee Ka Siong stated in a Facebook post on Saturday (Feb 3) that prospective students can further their undergraduate studies in early childhood education through the programmes offered by Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT).
The MCA president also had the honor of witnessing Yong Zhi Cheng graduating on Saturday. She also received the “best student” award during the ceremony. Dr. Wee mentioned, “Yong discovered her real interests were not in science despite taking up those subjects in secondary school. Instead, she immensely enjoys her time spent with young children and teaching them. Two years ago, she decided to sign up for the Diploma in Early Childhood Education program at TAR EC College.”
Dr. Wee Ka Siong also added that while Yong’s parents initially wanted her to go into another profession for better remuneration, they showed great pride in their daughter’s achievements. Yong is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education at TAR UMT before joining the workforce and becoming a kindergarten teacher. Dr. Wee concluded by saying, “My very best wishes to the graduates as they move on to the next phase of life after graduation.”
