MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has expressed his support for Datuk Amizar Abu Adam as the representative for Pelangai, while also congratulating Barisan Nasional’s victory in the Pahang state seat. He thanked the voters for supporting the Barisan candidate and showed confidence in Amizar’s ability to work for the people and convey their voices to the Pahang state assembly.
Dr Wee also expressed gratitude towards the Barisan machinery for their efforts in ensuring the coalition’s victory and the Election Commission staff members for organizing the election. He specifically acknowledged the hard work of Pahang MCA chairman Datuk Seri Hoh Khai Min and Bentong MCA division chairman Datuk Kang Meng Fuat in leading MCA’s machinery to victory.
Unofficial count shows that Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Amizar Abu Adam has received 7,324 votes as of 8.15pm on Saturday (Oct 7), meaning he has garnered over half of the 11,480 ballots in the rural constituency.
In total, there were over 16,383 eligible voters, with 71% or 11,631 having cast their votes as of 5pm on Saturday.
