PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has held an in-depth discussion with the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) on Monday (July 1) in a move to foster interfaith dialogue and mutual understanding.

The MCA president said that the discussion revolved around crucial issues pertaining to the Federal Constitution, the proposed amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 (Act 355) and citizenship matters.

“It was a fruitful exchange of ideas aimed at ensuring that the rights and interests of all Malaysians are upheld,” he said in a Facebook post on Monday (July 1).

He also expressed his commitment towards fostering further dialogue and understanding among diverse religious communities, as the country strived for a harmonious and inclusive society.

“Thank you to MCCBCHST for the insightful meeting. Let’s continue working together towards a moderate Malaysia that upholds the constitution,” added Dr Wee, who is also Ayer Hitam MP.
