KLANG: Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, a member of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and the Papar MP, has refuted claims that he signed any statutory declaration (SD) to overthrow the government headed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Armizan, who also serves as the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, stated that he has not been contacted by any party associated with the SDs and hoped that such allegations would not resurface.
“I have never put my signature on an SD, and I think we should stop discussing this matter,” he said during a press conference in Klang on Tuesday (Jan 9).
Blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin previously posted a video on YouTube alleging that the Dubai Move managed to procure 120 SDs, including one from Armizan, in an attempt to change the current administration.
Armizan emphasized that the time would be better spent on pursuing the agenda outlined by the government.
“As a leader from Sabah, I believe that the Unity Government leadership has displayed significant commitment, and joint plans between the Federal Government and the state government have been established to address longstanding issues,” he added.
“I am confident that we will not regress and undermine our own plans,” he concluded. – Bernama
