PETALING JAYA: Sprinter Eddy Bernard is Malaysia’s first medallist in the Paris Paralympics after he took the bronze medal in the T44 men’s 100m race.
The 23-year-old from Beluran, Sabah finished his race in 11.77s at the Stade de France Stadium on Monday (Sept 2).

Born with a small right leg and a disjointed finger, he also shattered his personal best of 10.77s, which he recorded in the World Para Championships in Kobe last May.
South Africa’s Mpumelelo Mhlongo took gold with a time of 11.12s, while Luis Vives Suares took silver by recording 11.20s.
