    Elmina plane crash: JCorp confirms son-in-law of CEO killed

    JOHOR BARU: Johor Corporation (JCorp) has extended its condolences to the families of victims who were killed in the plane crash near Elmina Township in Selangor.

    In a statement on Facebook, JCorp also said one of the victims of the tragedy was its president and chief executive’s son-in-law.

    “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic news of the untimely passing of the son-in-law of Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim, president and chief executive of JCorp.

    “Our hearts go out to his family and the families of all the victims in this time of immeasurable pain.

    “As they navigate through this difficult period, we respectfully request and deeply appreciate everyone’s understanding in granting the family their much-needed privacy,” it said on Friday (Aug 18).

    On Thursday (Aug 17), Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the six passengers who were killed in the plane crash were Pelangai assemblyman Datuk Seri Johari Harun, Kharil Azwan Jamaludin, Shaharul Amir Omar, Mohamad Naim Fawwaz Mohamed Muaidi, Muhammad Taufiq Mohd Zaki and Idris Abdol Talib @ Ramali.

    The two crew members on the ill-fated plane were pilots Shahrul Kamal Roslan, who is Syed Mohamed’s son-in-law and Heikal Aras Abdul Azim.

    Two road users were also killed in the accident.
