MELAKA: Gregory Ng, the newly-elected president of Junior Chamber International Malacca City Entrepreneur (JCI MCE), has highlighted the importance of enhancing entrepreneurial skills among youth as a key focus for his tenure.
Ng stated, “I will dedicate my efforts to organize entrepreneur enhancement programs for youths and children and ensure JCI MCE’s outreach and impact to serve the deserving locals.”
In addition, he emphasized his plans to organize a business incubation program aimed at inspiring young entrepreneurs, particularly those in start-up businesses. The program would encompass digitalization, effective marketing, and business management skills.
Ng further explained that the program is designed to cultivate young entrepreneurs and assist them in creating a positive impact and promoting growth.
As he took over from the immediate past president Tonmyz Ong See Wei, Ng’s inauguration ceremony was attended by Deputy Melaka State Legislative Assembly Speaker Kerk Chee Yee as the guest of honor, along with overseas JCI leaders from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Indonesia.
Regarding JCI MCE’s outreach programs, Ng mentioned that the organization has previously provided assistance to around 1000 underprivileged children by supplying them with essential school items earlier in the year. He also indicated plans to offer financial aid to students in need and expressed a commitment to continuing and strengthening charitable initiatives under his leadership, by collaborating closely with local non-profit organizations.
During his departure speech, Ong expressed gratitude to his members for their support and contributions in helping him organize programs for local communities. He acknowledged the challenges of managing JCI MCE with 172 members, 50 projects, and one national program during his one-year tenure, but attributed his effectiveness to the overwhelming support from his members.
Ong also mentioned that JCI MCE had received 76 awards and successfully executed several impactful programs the previous year.
