A European official predicted that EU nations would easily agree to extend ballistic missile sanctions on Iran, set to expire in October.
The official also stated that there is an opportunity to negotiate a de-escalatory nuclear deal with Iran by the end of 2023.
“We might have a small chance to resume discussions with them to either return to the JCPOA or reach a de-escalation agreement before the year ends,” the official said to reporters in Washington, requesting anonymity. The JCPOA is a 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran that is no longer in effect.
