Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy is set to go on trial for corruption and illegal financing of his 2007 presidential campaign, allegedly linked to Libyan funding, according to France’s financial prosecutor (PNF).
The PNF announced on Friday that an initial hearing will take place on March 7, 2024, followed by the trial itself in 2025. Sarkozy has consistently refuted the allegations leveled against him.
