WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States, Japan, and South Korea are set to launch a series of joint initiatives on technology, education, and defense at a Camp David summit this Friday, according to senior U.S. administration officials.
The summit, although unlikely to result in a formal security arrangement among the nations, will establish a mutual understanding of regional defense responsibilities. Additionally, the three countries will establish a three-way hotline to facilitate communication during times of crisis, as stated by the officials.
