    (Reuters) – The Copa America final between Argentina and Colombia was delayed by more than an hour on Sunday after ticketless fans tried to gain entry to the venue. Following is a factbox of similar incidents at recent major football matches:

    COPA AMERICA FINAL 2024

    Argentina v Colombia

    The Copa America final between Argentina and Colombia was delayed for more than an hour after thousands of ticketless fans rushed security and tried to force their way into the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Police were able to close the gates and put the stadium on lockdown, with many people stuck outside trying to get inside before kick-off.

    CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL 2024

    Real Madrid v Borussia Dortmund

    Police in London made more than 50 arrests ahead of the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium. A pitch invasion occurred during the first minute of the game, with three separate pitch invaders coming onto the field. Police added that they had also arrested several people for trying to enter the game without tickets.

    CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL 2022

    Liverpool v Real Madrid

    Crowd control at the Stade de France ahead of the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid was so disorganised that the match started 36 minutes late, with dozens arrested and hundreds injured after French police used tear gas and pepper spray on Liverpool supporters.

    EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL 2020

    Italy v England

    Ticketless fans tried to get into Wembley Stadium for the European Championship final between England and Italy, leading to mass disorder and scuffles between fans and officials in and around the stadium.
