A tragic incident occurred in El Cajon, California, as a man lost his life in a tree-trimming accident while engaging in a video call with a family member. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that Gary Maurice Zing, 59, was seen cutting branches on a tree in his backyard on July 5. However, a piece of the tree fell on him, leading to his untimely demise.

As the family member on the video call witnessed the accident, they immediately raised the alarm and contacted emergency services. Tragically, when first responders arrived at the scene, they confirmed that Zing had passed away. The medical examiner’s office determined Zing’s cause of death to be “multiple blunt force injuries” and deemed it an accident. This unfortunate incident serves as a somber reminder of the risks involved in tree-trimming activities.

The city of El Cajon, located approximately 15 miles northeast of San Diego, is now grappling with the loss of a community member. The local authorities, as well as Zing’s loved ones, are undoubtedly devastated by this tragic event.

It is essential to emphasize the importance of following proper safety protocols and precautions when engaging in physically demanding tasks such as tree-trimming.
