KUALA LUMPUR: Nadma’s latest report revealed that 43 flood victims from 12 families in Segamat, Johor, are still staying at a relief center (PPS) as of 6 am today.
Nadma also mentioned that dangerous water levels were still being recorded in several rivers, including Sungai Johor in Kota Tinggi, Johor; Sungai Kedah in Kota Setar, Kedah; and Sungai Arau in Arau, Perlis.
The Terengganu River in Hulu Terengganu, Terengganu and the Jemaluang River in Mersing, Johor, as well as Sungai Duyong in Jasin, Melaka, were all reported to be at dangerous or warning levels.
The agency added that 17 roads, including Jalan Boh in Cameron Highlands, Pahang; Jalan Lingkaran Kahang Barat in Kluang, Johor; and Jalan Durian Mentangau in Dungun, Terengganu, remain closed due to floods, damaged bridges, and collapsed slopes.
The report also mentioned that the Kuantan-Segamat Highway in Pekan, Pahang, is expected to stay closed until Jan 28 due to a sinkhole, while only one lane is open on the East-West Highway in Hulu Perak, Perak, following a collapsed slope. – Bernama
