In Johor Baru, two foreigners were apprehended for the alleged murder of their fellow countryman in Taman Desa Cemerlang, Ulu Tiram.
The victim suffered a slash on the right side of his neck during a fight in a rented room at a shop, which occurred at 11.15pm on Saturday, July 15.
Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak, the district police chief of Seri Alam, stated that the two suspects, aged 39 and 40, were taken into custody around 12.10am on Sunday, July 16, following a tip-off from the public regarding the altercation.
During the arrest, three box cutters were also confiscated by the authorities.
The victim, a 37-year-old shop worker, was discovered unconscious in a pool of blood. After being confirmed deceased, his body was sent to Sultan Ismail Hospital for further examination.
“Investigations revealed that the fight broke out when the victim provoked the intoxicated suspects,” said Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak in a statement.
Both suspects have been detained for additional investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
