SHAH ALAM: The daughter of former Al-Arqam leader Ashaari Muhammad, Ummu Atiyah (pic), claims she was a victim of violence and rape by a leader of GISB Sdn Bhd (GISB).

She stated that the incident occurred when she was forced to marry a GISB leader in 2015.

“At that time, I really refused… I didn’t want to marry him because he was old and overweight, and I was disgusted by him,” she told Sinar Harian.

“After receiving that WhatsApp message, I ran to my friend’s house in Jordan… then he and his followers came and demanded I turn myself in. They caused a commotion until 2am.”

Previously, it was reported that police successfully rescued 402 children aged between one and 17, who were believed to have been exploited in 18 welfare homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan during Op Global on Sept 11.

The raids revealed cases of neglect and abuse of children residing in these charity homes.

Following the case, 171 individuals were detained, including 105 women aged between 17 and 64.
