IPOH: Former policeman Senior Asst Comm (R) Datuk Shaharon Anuar Abdul Latif, known for his role in the local TV series Gerak Khas, was involved in a three-car accident at Batu 6, Jalan Tanjung Tualang near Batu Gajah.
Shaharon Anuar, 61, who previously headed the Kuala Lumpur police’s management department, and his wife Datin Norasmariah Basri, 46, experienced chest pain after the 3.15pm accident on Saturday (Nov 18).
Batu Gajah OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif stated that Shaharon Anuar and Norasmariah were not seriously hurt and received treatment at the Perak Community Specialist Hospital.
ACP Mohamad Roy explained that in the incident, a car with a family of four had slowed down to make a right turn.
He said a second car behind it was unable to stop in time and collided with the first car, causing the first vehicle to hit Shaharon Anuar’s car coming from the opposite direction.
As a result, the 38-year-old man driving the first car experienced chest pain, his 34-year-old wife injured her hip, and their two children aged one and eight suffered head injuries.
The 29-year-old driver of the second car also experienced chest pain.
All were taken to Batu Gajah Hospital for treatment. The case will be investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act,” he said.
In a video of the incident posted on social media, Shaharon Anuar and Norasmariah are seen getting out of their car immediately after the accident to help the victims in the other car. Norasmariah is seen carrying a child out of the other car as Shaharon Anuar assists the other victims.
