(Reuters) – Four people died and 11 were injured in a tragic incident in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region. The incident occurred when distribution of humanitarian aid was taking place in the residential area of the frontline town of Orikhiv. Governor Yuriy Malashko, who oversees the region, confirmed the devastating news on Monday, revealing that the victims were three women and a man, all in their 40s. This unfortunate event was a result of Russia’s bombing, with a total of 36 targeted strikes on 10 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region.
As tragic as this incident is, it is crucial to note that Reuters was unable to independently verify the report. Both Russia and Ukraine have consistently denied targeting civilians throughout the duration of their conflict, which has lasted for over 500 days.
Reporting on this heartbreaking incident was done by Dan Peleshchuk in Kyiv and Lidia Kelly in Melbourne.
