The Finance Ministry announced on Wednesday (Nov 22) that the retail prices of RON95, RON97, and diesel will stay the same at RM2.05, RM3.47, and RM2.15 per litre respectively from Nov 23-29. This decision was made based on the weekly retail prices of petroleum products under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula.
Despite the increase in global oil prices, the government has opted to keep the prices unchanged to protect consumers. The ceiling price of RON95 will remain at RM2.05 per litre and diesel at RM2.15 per litre, even though the market price for both products has exceeded the current ceiling price, as stated in the ministry’s release.
According to the statement, the government will keep a close watch on the global crude oil price trends and will implement necessary measures to ensure the welfare of the people.
