TAIPING: Police have arrested two men and a woman in Changkat Jering near here known to be behind 13 burglary and vehicle theft cases at a home on Oct 7.
The suspects of the group dubbed the Takim Gang were aged 21 to 35 and allegedly took part in robberies since early this year, said Taiping district police chief ACP Mohamad Nasir Ismail
Several stolen goods worth about RM60,000 were also discovered at their home.
“All the suspects were arrested at a residence in Changkat Jering at around 1.30pm,” said ACPT Mohamad Nasir.
In the raid codenamed Ops Pintu, the police also confiscated several tools used for the robberies such as a sledgehammer, a goat’s claw hammer, a metal cutter and a screwdriver.
“During the arrest police also recovered items stolen since the beginning of this year such as laptops, generator sets, gas cylinders, motorcycle tyres, car batteries, mobile phones and car accessories,” he told a press conference at the Taiping District Police Headquarters (IPD) here on Thursday (Oct 24).
Mohd Nasir said police also seized a one-tonne lorry and a Vario scooter from separate locations while all three suspects have been remanded since Oct 8. – Bernama
