BERLIN, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) — The IFA 2023, a prominent consumer electronics trade fair, commenced in Berlin on Friday, featuring an impressive participation of over 2,000 exhibitors from 48 countries and regions, indicating a significant increase in scale compared to the previous year.
“Alongside renowned historical brands, this year’s IFA showcases 30 percent new exhibitors,” stated Oliver Merlin, the managing director of IFA Management, in a released statement on Friday.
With sustainability as a prominent focus of the fair’s agenda, the exhibition, in preparation for IFA’s upcoming 100th anniversary next year, introduced a dedicated exhibit area to highlight sustainability for the first time in the history of the event. Additionally, several forums will be conducted to discuss the development of consumer electronic enterprises in a more sustainable manner.
According to the official website of IFA, nearly 1,300 Chinese exhibitors have registered for this year’s event. Leading Chinese companies such as Hisense, TCL, and Haier have secured some of the largest exhibit areas, showcasing a diverse range of products.
During his keynote speech on Friday, President Yu Zhitao of the Hisense Group expressed their eagerness to expand their market share internationally. He stated, “To become increasingly user-centric, we are constantly upgrading and optimizing our products and services to meet consumer needs.”
