KUALA LUMPUR: Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah has called for justice for a construction worker allegedly attacked by relatives of the Pahang royal family and a group of individuals last month.
The online portal Sinar Harian reported that Tengku Hassanal has demanded immediate justice for the worker.
In an update on his Instagram Story on Friday (Oct 18), he stated that justice not only needs to be implemented but must also be visibly done.
“He (the victim) is my people (rakyat). Give him justice now. Those who fight for justice will always face opposition from those who do injustice,” he was quoted as saying.
Previously, through a statement issued by Istana Abdulaziz, Tengku Hassanal called on the police to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation.
He requested it be transparent and fair, without compromise to any party, so that justice can be upheld.
It was reported earlier that a road construction and maintenance worker claimed to have been injured after being attacked by a royal family member and several individuals using sharp weapons and guns.
On Thursday (Oct 17), it was reported that the victim, known as Alias Awang, 44, expressed disappointment over the lack of action from the authorities regarding the incident.
