(Reuters) – Australian golfer Hannah Green secured victory at the HSBC Women’s World Championship on Sunday with a stellar performance in the final round. Green, 27, carded a five-under par 67 to claim her fourth LPGA tour win, edging out French player Celine Boutier by one shot.
This win marked Green’s first victory since the JM Eagle LA Championship last year and earned her a prize of $270,000 from the $1.8 million event held at Singapore’s Sentosa Golf Club.
Starting the day behind Japan’s Ayaka Furue, Green faced a setback with a bogey on the 10th hole. However, the Perth native showcased her resilience by finishing strong with three consecutive birdies towards the end of the round.
Boutier finished the tournament at 12-under overall, narrowly missing out on the title to Green. Meanwhile, Furue had a disappointing finish, ending in a share of eighth place after a double bogey on the final hole.
