(Reuters) – Tyrrell Hatton, the English golfer, has announced that he will be joining LIV Golf and is set to be part of a new team expansion led by current Masters champion Jon Rahm. The Saudi Arabia-backed league made the announcement on Tuesday.
Hatton, who has previously represented Europe in the Ryder Cup on three different occasions, has achieved success by winning six times on Europe’s DP World Tour and securing his maiden PGA Tour title at the 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational.
The 32-year-old Hatton will be making his debut appearance on the Legion XIII team during this week’s LIV Golf season opener event at El Camaleon Golf Course, which is located in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
“I’m really excited for this next chapter, to link up with Jon Rahm and Legion XIII, and to get started this week in Mexico,” Hatton stated in a news release.
