(Reuters) – Matteo Manassero, the overnight leader from Italy, managed to maintain his one-shot lead with a solid 67 on Saturday at the Jonsson Workwear Open at the Glendower Golf Club in Johannesburg. Although he couldn’t replicate his outstanding second-round 61, the 30-year-old is still in prime position to end his 11-year title drought on Sunday with a total score of 20 under-par for the tournament, only dropping two shots in his first 54 holes.
Leading the chasing pack is South African Shaun Norris, who finished one shot behind Manassero after carding a 65 on Saturday. Jordan Smith of England is also in contention, finishing seven under-par for the day with three birdies.
Close behind are home favorite Oliver Bekker, who shot a 68, and Spain’s Angel Hidalgo, who carded a 67, both sitting on 18 under-par. The competition is heating up as the final round approaches.
