KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor expressed disappointment regarding the decrease in dividends paid by statutory bodies and government-linked companies (GLCs) to the Sabah government this year. The Chief Minister stated that as of October 30th, these entities have paid RM138.7mil to the state government, which is 8.8% less than the previous year’s amount. In his speech at the closing ceremony of the board of directors course and presentation of dividend and contribution, Hajiji emphasized the need for these organizations to enhance their income generation efforts for future years. State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun delivered Hajiji’s speech.

One of the state GLCs, SMJ Sdn Bhd (SMJSB), contributed RM50mil to the state government. Other agencies that provided dividends include Sabah Credit Corporation (RM17mil), KKIP Sdn Bhd (RM12mil), Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd (RM12mil), Innoprise Corporation Sdn Bhd (RM3.568mil), and Desa Plus Sdn Bhd (RM2mil).
