A battery-operated camera was discovered hidden inside a port-a-potty at a beach in Wisconsin, according to the police. The camera was found by a beachgoer on Tuesday, July 25, who promptly alerted the authorities. Officers from the Oconomowoc Police Department responded to Bender Beach at around 1:15 pm and confirmed the presence of the camera. It was easily visible when the seat was lifted.
The police department confiscated the toilet and is currently analyzing it as part of their investigation. The incident has raised concerns among local residents. Kathleen Heckenkamp expressed her distress, stating, “There are just so many levels of ‘ick’. It’s very upsetting to me that, in our own neighborhood, there’s something strange going on.”
In response to the incident, the City of Oconomowoc Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department has thoroughly checked all city bathrooms and port-a-potties for any other hidden cameras. City workers will continue to monitor public bathrooms for any suspicious activity. The city has also encouraged local businesses to be vigilant in inspecting their premises for hidden devices and advised residents to be on the lookout for cameras.
If anyone discovers a hidden camera, they are urged to contact the police immediately.
Oconomowoc is located approximately 35 miles west of downtown Milwaukee.
