KUALA LUMPUR: A horse was killed in a collision with a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle on Jalan Sungai Tua-Ulu Yam, Selayang.
Supt Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir, the acting police chief of Gombak district, disclosed that the 54-year-old driver of the 4WD was travelling from Antara Gapi to Sri Gombak when the accident occurred around 6.30am on Tuesday (Oct 31) morning.
Upon reaching the scene, the driver noticed a horse on the road but was unable to avoid it.
In a statement, Supt Noor Ariffin said, “The driver and one passenger escaped unscathed, however, the horse perished immediately.”
Bernama reached out to Noor Ariffin, who mentioned that the police were investigating the origins of the horse as no one has come forward to claim responsibility for the deceased animal.
“We have been informed that there are stables in close proximity to the accident location, although it remains uncertain whether the horse involved belonged to those stables,” he stated.
