    House fire in Sipitang leaves 66-year-old man dead

    A man named Wong Fook On, 66, was tragically killed in a fire that occurred in Sipitang district on Friday, September 29th. According to the Fire and Rescue Department, Wong’s charred remains were discovered in the kitchen area of the house, which was completely destroyed by the fire.

    Following a report at 7.39pm, the Sipitang fire station dispatched a team to the scene at Kampung Melaliah. It was reported that the fire also resulted in the total destruction of a car.

    By 8.05pm, the fire was successfully brought under control, and the victim’s remains were subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation and action. The Department spokesperson confirmed that no further risks were detected during the team’s area inspection, and the operation concluded at 10.36pm.
