PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) have achieved the Malaysian Futsal double.
Following their triumph in the Malaysian Premier Futsal League division one title in August, the Southern Tigers claimed the Malaysia Futsal Cup by defeating Selangor 3-2 at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on Sunday (Oct 6).
Coached by Juan Antonio Garcia, JDT’s goals were netted by Bruno Taffy in the fourth minute, Firdaus Ambiah in the 12th minute, and Awalludin Mat Nawi in the 20th minute.
Selangor’s efforts came from Gabriel Rosa in the 14th minute and Aidil Shahril in the 25th minute.
This marks JDT’s first victory in the Malaysia Futsal Cup.
Last year, they were defeated by the Pahang Rangers 1-3 in a penalty shootout following a 4-4 draw in regulation time.
