PUTRAJAYA: Hundreds of civil servants have flocked to the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) salary calculator service counters, eager to find out their salary increase following the implementation of the SSPA on Dec 1.

A Bernama check found that civil servants from various levels were seen using the four-screen salary calculator at the Public Service Department (JPA) booth during the 19th edition of the Majlis Amanat Perdana Perkhidmatan Awam (MAPPA XIX) 2024 programme here on Friday (Aug 16).

The SSPA salary calculator service, an initiative by the JPA, provides an overview of each civil servant’s salary increase, with the displayed amount not including allowances.

An auxiliary policeman at the Prime Minister’s Department, Abdul Aiman Afiq Abdullah, says the salary calculator service provided a precise overview of the salary increase announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“My salary increase is quite high. Although it seemed like a small amount at first, this calculator has shown me how considerable it actually is. I’m very happy with it.”

“This salary increase is a great help to lower-grade civil servants, encouraging us to improve both our work and services,” he says.

Meanwhile, assistant enforcement officer at Iskandar Puteri City Council Ashrul Md Dom commends the JPA initiative for introducing a salary calculator that provides civil servants with a clear understanding of their salary increase.

“This makes it easier for civil servants to calculate their salary increase as the presentation paper can be quite complex.

“This increase aims to protect civil servants’ welfare, but we must also enhance the quality of our service delivery to the people,” he says.

Wan Asni Wan Mat, a Grade 11 operations assistant at the Kuantan district police Headquarters, says that the Prime Minister’s announcement of the salary increase should be regarded as motivation to deliver the best service to the people.

According to JPA, the SSPA salary calculator service is expected to be accessible on the SSPA official website.

Anwar, when addressing the civil servants at MAPPA XIX 2024, announced a 15% salary adjustment for civil servants in the implementing, management, and professional groups, and 7% for those in the top management group. – Bernama
