KUALA LUMPUR: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) is continuously working to improve the JPJeBid system for better user experience, according to JPJ deputy director-general Aedy Fadly Ramli. He mentioned that the department regularly collaborates with relevant agencies to enhance the system based on feedback and criticism received from the public. The outcomes of these discussions will be presented to the Transport Ministry for further action. Aedy Fadly made these statements while inspecting the JPJ Integrated Ops at the Batu Toll Plaza on Friday (Sept 9) night.
When asked about a male celebrity’s disappointment with the JPJeBid system and the involvement of scalpers or ghost bidders, Aedy Fadly expressed his gratitude for public feedback and acknowledged the inconvenience caused to others. He also admitted that the system may face disruptions during periods of high user traffic, particularly during bidding for special plate number series. He cited the example of the FF and M_M series, which experienced unusual user traffic in the last 30 minutes before bidding closed, unlike regular plate numbers.
Recently, JPJ conducted a bidding process for special “M__M” series vehicle registration number plates in conjunction with the National Day 2023 celebration. Additionally, an integrated operation was carried out, inspecting a total of 4,640 vehicles from 8pm until midnight. Aedy Fadly informed that 746 summonses were issued during this operation, with the most common offense being driving without a driver’s license.
He further remarked that authorities detained a 15-year-old boy and his twin brother for driving without a license. The siblings claimed they were delivering a mobile phone to their mother, who worked in Kepong. The parents have been summoned for further action, and the mother’s vehicle was seized as well, Aedy Fadly disclosed.
