The police apprehended three men and confiscated 30,006 yaba pills valued at RM330,066 during an operation known as Op Tapis Bersepadu. The operation took place by the roadside near a Muslim cemetery in Mukim Jal Kechil, Tumpat, on Monday.
According to the Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun, the three suspects, aged between 20 and 27, were taken into custody after the authorities discovered a packet with six pills, believed to be yaba pills, in their Perodua Myvi car.
“Upon the arrest, the suspects guided the law enforcement officials to a residence in Kampung Binjal Cabang Empat, Tumpat. Following a thorough search, the police found a black plastic package beneath a table containing 30,000 yaba pills,” he stated on Tuesday (Sept 5).
Additionally, two Yamaha Y15 motorcycles worth RM16,000 were seized by the police.
All three suspects, including two who tested positive for drugs, will be held in custody for a period of five days until September 11. They will face investigation under Section 39B and 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. – Bernama
