KEMAMAN: Opening at 9am on Saturday (Nov 18) was the nomination centre for the Parliamentary by-election of this constituency at Dewan Berlian Utama, Kemaman Municipal Council.
This process is expected to last an hour, concluding at 10 am, at which point the returning officer, Ahmad Farhan Abdul Wahab, will announce the candidates for the by-election.
The Election Commission (EC) has set polling day for Dec 2 with early voting on Nov 28.

This by-election is being held due to the Terengganu Elections Court’s decision on Sept 26, annulling PAS candidate, Che Alias Hamid’s victory in the 15th general election (GE15).
Barisan Nasional (BN) announced on Monday that its candidate is former Chief of Defence Forces General (Rtd) Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor, 66, while PAS is fielding Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar to defend the seat.
Meanwhile, Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) has announced that it will not be fielding a candidate to contest the seat.
