Kenya and Indonesia have reached an agreement to strengthen their trade and investment partnership, aiming to bring mutual benefits. The cooperation agreement was signed in the presence of Kenyan President William Ruto and Indonesian President Joko Widodo. It focuses on the areas of mining and geology, promoting joint studies, knowledge sharing, and capacity building.
President Ruto expressed the intention to enhance and expand the partnership between Kenya and Indonesia, with a particular emphasis on four key issues: food security, mining, renewable energy, and health. Following a bilateral meeting in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, he stated the commitment to fostering an environment conducive to increased trade between the two countries.
Kenya’s statistics reveal that trade and investment between Kenya and Indonesia exceeded 600 million U.S. dollars in 2022. Notably, sectors such as textiles and apparel, energy, mining, and oil production and refining hold significant potential for high yields.
