PETALING JAYA: The challenge of the Malaysian professional players ended in the Denmark Open with the defeat of mixed doubles pair Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing.
Kian Meng-Pei Jing squandered a few points lead in the second game before going down to Kim Won-ho-Jeong Na-eun of South Korea 21-16, 18-21, 16-21 in the second round at the Jyske Bank Arena in Odense on Thursday (Oct 17).
The other pro players under coach Rosman Razak who exited earlier were compatriots Goh Soon Huat-Lai Pei Jing, men doubles pair Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi and Goh Sze Wei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani in the first round.
Said Pei Jing: “It feels like a waste as we had a good chance out there but it’s unfortunate that we were not at our best in the rubber game.”
“We did our best though, and overall, this year has been quite alright for us,” added Pei Jing.
