KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah attended the premiere of a Bernama TV special documentary “Menjunjung Kasih Tuanku” at Istana Negara on Thursday (Jan 25) night.
Accompanied by Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, His Majesty watched the 30-minute documentary, which portrays his reign as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong. This was following a Surah Yasin recitation, tahlil and doa selamat ceremony at the Main Surau of Istana Negara.
The film was screened at the palace’s banquet hall and was attended by around 300 guests. Guests included Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar and Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
Following the screening, Al-Sultan Abdullah reacted positively to the documentary, saying, “Okay, Alhamdulillah… thank you,” while giving the thumbs-up gesture.
The documentary showcased various aspects of His Majesty’s interactions with the people, including public engagements, tours throughout Malaysia, and formal events with national leaders.
It also highlighted the diverse aspects of His Majesty’s life such as his moments of relaxation with members of the Royalty and his official engagements, such as attending the Meeting of the Conference of Rulers and opening Parliament sessions.
Al-Sultan Abdullah’s five-year reign will conclude on Jan 30.
The documentary will be broadcast until Jan 30, with the following screening times: Friday (Jan 26) at 10am and 3.30pm; Jan 27 at 8.30pm; Jan 28 at 12.30pm; Jan 29 at 10am; and Jan 30 at 6am and 11.30am. – Bernama
