DAP stalwart Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang showed his support for Dr Quah Perng Fei, the party’s candidate for the Bandar Baru Klang state seat, with a visit to Taman Eng Ann in Klang. Selangor DAP secretary Wong Sze Han accompanied him on the visit, where they interacted with party workers and local residents over a cup of coffee at a local kopitiam. They also took a walk around the nearby market area.
Lim addressed the crowd with a megaphone during a speech delivered in Hokkien, which delighted the audience. He urged everyone to come out and vote on August 12, emphasizing the importance of a high voter turnout to achieve a positive electoral outcome in the six states. Lim stressed the need for reforms and pointed out that Malaysia has fallen behind other countries in the region, such as Singapore, South Korea, and Hong Kong. He called for unity and support for a unity government.
Wong also spoke in Hokkien and praised Dr Quah’s track record as a Klang councillor, urging the crowd to support the candidate and give him an opportunity to serve. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the Selangor state government for a diverse, prosperous, and progressive Selangor. Wong explained Pakatan Harapan’s cooperation with Barisan Nasional, highlighting that the upcoming state elections offer the people a clear choice. He urged voters to choose Pakatan for seats that are contested by the coalition, and vote for Barisan candidates in other seats due to their cooperation.
