    KL sinkhole: IGP at Jln Masjid India to assess situation

    KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain has arrived at Jalan Masjid India here.

    It is believed he is there to monitor the second sinkhole near the location where the first one appeared on Friday (Aug 23).

    The second sinkhole is believed to have appeared at around 2.30am on Wednesday (Aug 28) following heavy rain the previous evening.

    Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) employees immediately cordoned off the area to prevent any untoward incidents.

    A tourist identified as Vijayalaksmi, 48, fell into the first sinkhole when the pavement suddenly caved in on Friday.

    The search and rescue (SAR) operation for her entered its sixth day today.
