Authorities in Kuala Lumpur arrested a 19-year-old boy who allegedly attacked his mother and older brother with a machete after they prevented him from seeing his girlfriend. The arrest took place around 7pm last Wednesday, and police seized the machete believed to have been used in the incident.
The attack occurred at a residence in Pandan Jaya, Ampang on November 1. The suspect, who is unemployed, has a criminal record that includes five offenses, with a focus on drug-related activities. According to Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Mohd Azam Ismail, the teenager tested negative for drugs in a urine test.
The suspect was remanded for four days until Sunday for investigation under Sections 324 and 506 of the Penal Code for causing injury using weapons and criminal intimidation. Additionally, police arrested five men between the ages of 24 and 26 at 10:05am on the same day for allegedly breaking into a shophouse in Taman Ampang Mewah near Kuala Lumpur.
The suspects reportedly assaulted two Myanmar men at the shop. They remain in custody until November 22 for investigation under Section 395 of the Penal Code. The police chief urged the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.
