Explosions shook the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, in the early hours of Wednesday, prompting Ukrainian anti-aircraft units to engage attack drones. Debris from the attacks fell in two districts of the city, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Klitschko reported on the Telegram messaging app that the central Solomianskyi district was among the areas affected, with a non-residential building sustaining damage. Emergency services have been dispatched to the site.
In addition, Klitschko stated that debris had fallen in the Svyatoshyn district, located further west, and that a tree was on fire. So far, there is no information regarding any casualties. However, air raid alerts remain in place in Kyiv and the surrounding region, although they have been lifted in several other parts of the country.
