KOTA BHARU: Dr Hafidzah Mustakim, the Kota Lama assemblywoman from Pakatan Harapan, has assigned her lawyer to handle the follow-up process of a lawsuit against Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassaruddin Daud. This decision was made because Mohd Nassaruddin has not met the specified deadline for issuing an apology, as demanded, regarding his statement that described her and Galas assemblyman Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim from Barisan Nasional as being in opposition to the Islamic struggle. Dr Hafidzah Mustakim made this announcement after launching the Local Action Communication programme and celebrating National Day at Kubang Pasu Market on Monday, September 4.
According to reports, the two Kelantan representatives, through their lawyers, sent a seven-day ultimatum to Mohd Nassaruddin, requesting a public apology over his allegation. They warned that the failure to do so would result in legal action being taken. However, Mohd Nassaruddin, the Meranti assemblyman, stated that he believed there was no need for him to apologize.
