PETALING JAYA: A leader from the PKR party has stated that component parties in the unity government should exit the coalition if they are not genuinely committed to working together. Selangor PKR Youth Chief Muhammad Izuan Ahmad Kasim did not mention any specific party but referred to certain component parties under the unity government that were causing disturbances during its general meeting.
During his speech at the PKR Youth congress on Saturday (Nov 25), Muhammad Izuan urged insincere component parties to leave, stating, “If you are insincere in being together with us, just leave. There is no need to be a thorn in our flesh.” It is believed that Muhammad Izuan’s comments were directed towards MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M. Saravanan’s recent statement that MIC would take further action if they are not recognized by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, without specifying what these actions would be.
Additionally, Muhammad Izuan called on PKR Youth leaders to use social media to dispel any false allegations against Anwar. He emphasized that the PKR Youth is at the forefront of defending the presidential institution and urged them to defend the party president against any insults or slander through active engagement on social media platforms, stating, “Pick up your phones and be a cyber-trooper to quash slander towards our president. Because, who else will defend the PM if it isn’t us?”
The PKR Youth and Wanita wings concluded their meeting on Saturday (Nov 25) evening, and the party began its central national congress later that evening, during which Anwar is scheduled to deliver his officiating speech as party president. The PKR National Congress will continue with debates until Sunday (Nov 26) evening.
