TRIPOLI, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) — According to the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Libya produced over 36.5 million barrels of crude oil in August.
The NOC also reported that petroleum product production reached 458,126 tons, while petrochemical production reached 24,008 tons during the same month.
Additionally, condensate production reached 199,438 tons and natural gas production reached 1,072 million cubic meters in August.
During July, Libya’s production included over 36 million barrels of oil, 199,601 tons of condensates, and 1,104 million cubic meters of natural gas, as stated by the NOC.
Libya relies heavily on oil and gas for its economy, possessing the largest proven oil reserves in Africa. However, the sector has faced numerous challenges in recent years due to armed conflicts and disruptions in oil field and port operations.
